In a loveless relationship? It’s good to talk

28 August 2018 By In Relationship Advice
Are you in a loveless relationship? Are you in a loveless relationship?

Not all couples divorce when their relationship runs into trouble. Many soldier on remembering that they entered into a partnership “for better or for worse” but what impact does this have on their self-esteem and ultimate happiness?

The truth is that the unhappiness that crushed love can bring may remain and nobody is a winner. Talking about the problems in your relationship can help you to have a greater understanding of each other and have a more positive outlook.

Ask yourself:

  • When did my relationship start to change?
  • Was there a particular event that triggered this change?
  • Is my partner as unhappy as I am and if so what can we do together to make life better for us both?
  • What positive steps can I take to improve our lives?

If you think you can’t do this one alone, then it is possible that you will need professional help to get your life back on track and ultimately find the happiness you deserve.

Let us see if you can find the spark that first ignited your passion all those years ago and regain a sense of companionship that will enable a ray of sunshine to enter your relationship once more.

Tips to rebuild your relationship

  • Keep the communication lines open with your partner
  • Try not to be angry and bitter towards each other
  • Give each other space – time for you to do ‘your thing’ and time for them to do ‘their thing’ and then time to ‘do things together’
  • Extend the hand of friendship and value the companionship that you have
  • Seek professional help as this can help you to see things more clearly
